Salesforce

In Early 2021 the Manapan team was first approached by Salesforce design partner GroupGSA regarding the production of a very specific table to be produced and crafted with elements of Australia. This Chefs Table was planned to sit pride of place on the highest floors of the currently under construction Salesforce Tower in Sydney. Originally specified with the use of American timber and Australian stone, as we engaged through the design process Salesforces entrusted the Manapan Team to craft a carving concept that represented Salesforce’s journey to Australia.

The collaborative story behind this creation, the Salesforce Story, unfolds along the centre of the table through an artistic carving.  This carving, a joint effort between the Manapan Craftsmen and the Salesforce design team, begins with a representation of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco at one end. As one progresses along the table's length, it symbolizes Salesforce's journey, their expansion, growth, and the establishment of community. The opposite end of the table represents the entry of the heads of Sydney Harbour, where the table now resides. It is this journey across the ocean that brings the Salesforce family together.

A team of highly skilled craftsmen dedicated over 300 hours to meticulously plan and create this remarkable piece at Manapan's workshop, situated on Milingimbi Island in Arnhem Land, within Australia's Northern Territory. At the heart of its design lies a hand carved spine crafted from Tasmanian Blackwood timber, which runs the length of the table, contrasting with American Black Walnut that comprises the remainder of the top.

The craftsmanship and expertise of Manapan's Yolngu team are prominently showcased in the intricate detail and superb workmanship evident throughout both the table and its accompanying artwork. This multipurpose table, known as the ’The Salesforce Journey' spans over 6.7 meters in length and 1.3 meters in width.  Crafted entirely on Milingimbi Island, it was subsequently transported to its final destination via sea and land routes. Manapan worked closely with the expert team of Workarena to ensure a smooth delivery into NSW and preparations for our install team to complete the final install in Sydneys iconic Circular Quay.
